While raising children, the wishes of the parents are imposed on the children without knowing their uniqueness. Parents want their children to get the things that they did not get in their childhood. Parents give them those things. But even at that time, regardless of the capabilities and interests of the children, they are attacked by their own interests and expectations. Often the parents force their children to do a profession of their own. Whether they have the ability or not. So, children reluctantly turn to that course. It costs a lot of money. If children fail to do so, they reject the course itself. They choose another course or do nothing. They get depressed. They become conscious of what their friends and people around them will say about them. In extreme cases, they try to end their own life as last resort. So, parents should think about the dominant intelligence of their children. “The biggest mistake of past centuries in teaching has been to treat all students as if they were variants of the same individual and thus to feel justified in teaching them all the same subjects the same way”.

Multiple Intelligences
go to schools…

Let’s try to find out some aspects of intelligence. Howard Gardner, an American psychologist, identified eight types of intelligences in terms of uniqueness in every individual. Those are linguistic-verbal, logical- mathematical, visual-spatial, bodily- kinesthetic, musical, interpersonal, intrapersonal, and naturalist. Of the above-mentioned intelligences, if we can find out the dominant intelligence in a child at a very young age i.e., from six to fifteen years of age, we can significantly develop their dominant intelligence. They can cultivate those hobbies which they can easily pursue lifelong. By pursuing a career in it, we can lead a successful life and nurture their talents. A test in this regard has been standardized by the Multiple Intelligences Research Centre.

Multiple Intelligence can be detected by doing a psychological test to know the intelligence in different fields. If we know the intelligence of children psychologically, we will get scientific information about which field one should get into.

Following are various benefits of the Multiple Intelligences Picture Test.

  • To set goals
  • To develop the full potential in children
  • To empower children to succeed
  • To keep learning throughout life
  • To maintain enthusiasm
  • To raise children without any pressure
  • To curb binge-watch of television
  • To identify intellectually weak children
  • To reduce the rate of suicide in children, etc.

To develop a particular intelligence, psychological counselling is available regarding the various opportunities for further education and career in that field. This psychological test is suitable for the age group of six to fifteen years and above.
